Malygos Defeated!

November 27th, 2008

null

After our first night working on Malygos we managed to bring the him down to 15% but unfortunately no further due to a number of factors beyond our control. Due to the same problems we were unable to even attempt the fight at the start of the new reset.

null

However, when we finally had all these problems behind us and an optimal force, we headed back to the Eye of Eternity on Thursday and managed to bring Malygos to his death on the second pull of the night. Next up is Ulduar which unfortunately isn’t out until the first content patch for the expansion.

So until then, the gear farm continues!

Kel’Thuzad’s Demise!

November 23rd, 2008

null

Following our success in The Obsidian Sanctum we headed off to Naxxramas on Friday to see how we could manage there. We ended up clearing The Arachnid Quarter, previously known as The Spider Wing and killed Patchwerk, Grobbulus and Gluth before disconnects meant we had to leave without killing Thaddius.

null

However, this evening we managed to clear the rest of the instance, downing Kel’Thuzad just before raid end. We managed to finish off Thaddius in The Construct Corner as well as clear The Plague Quarter, The Millitary Quarter and finishing off Frostwrym later. A lot of effort went into getting this cleared tonight, so kudos to all the members for their efforts.

Next stop, The Eye of Eternity!

Sartharion is no more!

November 21st, 2008

null

Little after a week of the expansion being released and finally getting 25 men together we decided to take a peak at this boss. We didn’t really know the fight before hand, just the basics. Turns out it was more than enough as we managed to down Sartharion on our very first pull. If that wasn’t good enough, we managed to do it as a realm first, therefore the 25 present are now proud owners of a new awesome title.

null

Sartharion is the boss inside the Obsidian Sanctum. He has 3 other drakes that can either be killed or kept alive. The fight itself isn’t really difficult and is nothing particularly challenging with no drakes up, but with drakes up it becomes more challenging, similar to Hakkar in Zul’Gurub, so we hope to attempt these other versions at some point soon!

Asgard is Recruiting!

October 23rd, 2008

We have opened recruitment for the classes listed below to help us in our drive to progress in WoTLK. In TBC, we killed M’uru before the 3.0.2 instance nerf and Kil’jaeden 2 days after the patch was released.

We are a no nonsense serious raid guild of mature players focused on progression and beating all content the game has to offer.

We raid from Sunday to Friday inclusive (unless content cleared before then) from 20:00 server time to approximately 00:30.

We are actively looking for:

Restoration Druid

Exceptional applicants of all classes are of course also considered and you can find information on what specific classes we may be interested in in our recruitment forum here.

Interested applicants should click on our recruitment status and read the recruitment guide. You can also contact Konflict in-game for more information.

GAME OVER MK.2

October 19th, 2008

null

After our previous post stating that the game was over after killing Illidan, at least this time we know it is for real. Tonight we downed The Deceiver himself…Kil’jaeden. After working on him pre-patch the fight is a lot easier afterwards. We managed to get him down after 3 nights in total, 1 before the patch and 2 after, so that just goes to show how the main elements of the encounter are now so much easier to handle with the increased dps.

Even though the fight is still only a shadow of its original self, we have still brought ‘The Burning Crusade’ to an end, something which looked unlikely many months ago but due to sheer determination by members and the desire to complete it, we managed it.

Big congrats to everyone in the guild, and thanks. We now look forward to ‘Wrath of The Lich King’ with that burning drive to break into the elite top 100 guilds in Europe. Bring it on!

You can find a full length video featuring audio from the encounter and more of the first kill below:

And… a post-patch M’uru kill

October 16th, 2008

Two days after our first M’uru kill pre-patch, we now killed him easily again post-patch. Now, let’s see if we can get a Kil’jaeden kill done soon!

No more twinkling!

October 14th, 2008

After nearly a month after the Eredar Twins went down, we finally killed M’uru tonight. Before the 3.x patch, I might add.

Monday was a really nice evening with attempts that brought M’uru down to 20-10% consistently. But it wasn’t meant to happen that day. Today however, we one-shotted him! A morale boost and all of the evening to experience Kil’jaeden. First things first though: The fight in a nutshell!

From a melee point of view, it’s hard to see what’s actually going on. Focused on the constant stream of adds from the front and back sides, while M’uru is being killed by casters and ranged in the middle. Once M’uru is “killed”, he transforms into the not so friendly Void God: Entropius. This comes down to a DPS race. Kill before getting killed by all the damage bolts, voids, spheres and energy. With a few good timed heroisms, this night was a good one!

Twinkle, twinkle: M’uru

August 22nd, 2008

nullAfter the Eredar Twins, the demons took over and you get to fight some of them (or all, if you wish for more trash epics). The path to M’uru is high and you can clearly see all of the Isle of Qual’Danas. Alas, as it is in all of the instance, you cannot jump out of it (remember Upper Blackrock Spire?).

nullAfter a bunch of demons, which pose no difficulty really, you can see M’uru: The Naaru who was previously held in Silvermoon City and later taken to the Sunwell Plateau by Kael’thas. Now we get to fight his corrupted form before we get to the “final boss”. It looks like an interesting fight where DPS seems to be even more important then on Brutallus…

Double Down!

August 17th, 2008

So, last week we showed you a few screenshots of us jumping down on the Eredar Twins. Now, we can already show you the kill-shot!

The most difficult about these two bosses… is the third boss: The ledge.
- Dakeyras

True words after all. See that ledge where we jump off in the previous post? We just need to stand on that ledge to get line of sight on her. JUST DON’T FALL OFF! Fail. I cannot even remember how often we ran back just because people fell, lagged, blinked, autoran or simply jumped off that ledge during the buff phase, wiping the entire raid.

We changed tactics every day (all 3 days…) and the last one didn’t seem the most promising one but it was the one we used to kill them. On to M’uru!
